Power Calligraphy (リズムお習字 Rhythm Penmanship?) is the 21st game in Rhythm Tengoku, the 3rd Extra game unlocked with 41 Medals in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 23rd game in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. It's about a man who is trying to learn how to write calligraphy.

Gameplay

You play as a giant hand writing calligraphy with a surprising amount of strength. When the giant hand reaches enough power, press A to write. There are six different symbols to write (レ ("Re" Katakana), 、 (a Japanese comma), 力 (power), 己 (oneself), 寸 (sun, a Japanese kind of measurement), 心 (heart), and the characters つ3ニハ○○ムし (Korea) つるニハ○○ムし (Elsewhere) arranged to form a face). Near the end, the game goes faster and people come out dancing.

Controls

Button Mode

  • A: Write (with power)

Simple Tap Mode

  • Tap: Write (with power)

Timing Notes

  • Hit: The symbol is successfully written
  • Barely: If early, the line turns out squiggled. If late, a messy spot of ink is made. A barely counts as a miss.
  • Miss: If missed completely no marks are made, letting out a sigh.

A New Approach
I got these calligraphy tools as a hand-me-down from my sister, but they were so heavy and hard to set up, I just couldn't get into it. But then I started doing it to music, and now I never stop!

Trivia

  • There is a string in Rhythm Tengoku's code reading "リズムお習字 2"[1] directly after the text strings for Remix 8, meaning that this game was meant to have a sequel, but it was scrapped.
  • If you miss the last one, it automatically drops the chance of getting a superb.
  • The "The End" kanji that appears in Japanese version was kept in international version of Rhythm Heaven Megamix, unlike Rhythm Heaven Fever.
  • In the Korean version, the title screen is different along with the rating screens, the dancers, and the face drawn at the end, which is also .
