Double Date (Wデート W Deto?) is the 4th minigame in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 98th minigame in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. The playable character, a boy (Kouhai in Japanese), is on a date with his crush (Senpai in Japanese). The boy must kick away various sports balls that bounce toward them to protect a weasel couple. A sequel, Double Date 2, is unlocked later in the game.

Double Date gameplay
Double Date 3DS Gameplay
There are three types of balls that bounce toward the group. The most common one that appears is the soccer ball, which bounces once. Basketballs can also appear, which skid once and then bounce. This changes the rhythm and requires the boy to kick slightly quicker. The last ball appears the least frequently; the American football. It bounces three times before it reaches the boy. It moves at a slower rhythm than the others.

Button Mode

  • A: Kick

Simple Tap Mode

  • Tap: Kick

Timing Notes

  • Hit: A kick sound is heard. The weasels smile and cheer the boy. For American footballs and off-beat soccer balls, the weasels jump for joy, surprising the girl a bit.
  • Barely: A "doink" sound is heard. The boy cringes in pain as if he pulled his leg muscle. The weasels look back in surprise, and the ball falls to the side. A barely counts as a miss.
  • Miss: The girl gives a worried look. The weasels squeak and duck under the hole to avoid the missed ball. A missed American football will bruise the orange weasel's chin temporarily. Regardless of which one you miss, the weasels will pop back up with annoyed faces.

A Lovely Day
The coach thought his team lacked discipline. The truth was that the "accidental" lost balls were due to jealousy of the young couple and their better use of a beautiful day.

Skill Star

The Skill Star can be collected when you kick the fifth football perfectly.

  • The weasel couple appears later in Rhythm Heaven Fever during the game Love Rap, sitting on the couch at the end of the game.
  • In Cheer Readers, the boy who appears in the epilogue screens resembles the boy from this game.
  • The Japanese name uses a popular "pun" that the letter W means "double".
  • In Megamix, there is more grass added near the hole where the weasels sit on.
  • According to debug notes found in the files of Rhythm Heaven Megamix, this game alongside Fork Lifter, Flock Step, Cheer Readers, Board Meeting and Packing Pests would have its story mode variant added in that game but got cut for unknown reasons.
  • The butterflies from the title card can be seen in this game passing by the player. In order to see them, you must kick all balls correctly near the end of the game. If you miss one or two balls, however, the butterflies will fly away. They also appear in its sequel.
