The Gameplay is the exact same as the prequel, but the tempo is now much faster. The game takes place much higher in the sky.
In addition to the increased tempo and altered aesthetics, the game will attempt to visually mislead the player by having the two planes distance from each other. The beat remains the same, however, so don't be fooled!

Timing Notes
Hit: The player hits the shuttlecock towards Forthington.
Barely: The player hits the shuttlecock, but it is knocked to the side, and Forthington serves another one. A barely counts as a miss.
Miss: The shuttlecock flies past the player, and Forthington serves another one.
The American names of the characters, Baxter and Forthington, is a pun to "back and forth".
Sometimes in the background, the player can see the Blue Birds and their captain from Rhythm Heaven flying through the sky, replacing the normal birds. One can also be seen in the Superb epilogue screen.
If you miss the last shot of the game, Forthington says, "Come on! You can't miss the last shot! That's just lame! Anyway, good game!"
There is no practice for this game in Megamix, but there is a new one that changes distance between Forthington's place to far away while Baxter's place on his right side, making it difficult to hit shuttlecock at the same time.
The second "Bu-bum bum bum!" was changed in Megamix.
Some of the clouds that block your view from the evening and the night section in the original game of Rhythm Heaven Fever are missing in Megamix.
